Author Special: A Q&A with Pastor Emma Mukisa

In this special interview, we sit down with Pastor Emmanuel Mukisa, founder of Word of Truth Ministries International and author of over 50 books, including Letters to Young Ministers. Pastor Mukisa shares his heart for ministry, the inspiration behind his writing, and his vision for equipping the next generation of spiritual leaders.

Q: Pastor Mukisa, what inspired you to write Letters to Young Ministers?

A: This book was born from my desire to impart wisdom to young leaders stepping into ministry. Ministry is a journey that requires both spiritual and practical insight, and it’s easy for new ministers to feel overwhelmed. I wanted to provide guidance that speaks directly to the heart, offering encouragement and advice based on what I’ve learned through my own experiences. Letters to Young Ministers addresses the realities of ministry with a focus on humility, loyalty, and faithfulness, which are foundational to any successful spiritual calling.

Q: What are some of the core messages you hope young ministers take away from the book?

A: One of the main messages is the importance of a strong personal relationship with God. Ministry can never be sustained by talent or charisma alone; it’s rooted in a life of prayer, humility, and obedience. I also emphasize the value of loyalty and honor toward those who lead you. These qualities not only build character but create a strong foundation for lasting impact in ministry. My hope is that young ministers understand that they are servants first, called to lift up others as they walk in faith.

Q: You’ve written over 50 books on faith, leadership, and spiritual growth. What motivates you to write so prolifically?

A: Writing for me is a calling, something I felt led to do as part of my ministry. I view each book as a way to reach people beyond the pulpit, allowing the Word to go further and impact lives across the world. Every book I write is rooted in a desire to reveal God’s truth and equip believers. There’s a scripture in Habakkuk that speaks about making the vision plain, so that others may run with it. My motivation is to make the message of faith, hope, and power accessible, clear, and applicable to every believer’s life.

Q: You speak about loyalty, humility, and honor as essential traits for ministers. Why do you feel these qualities are so vital?

A: These qualities form the backbone of any strong ministry. Loyalty and honor to leadership not only show respect but position young ministers to receive wisdom and guidance from those who have walked the path before them. Humility keeps our motives pure, reminding us that ministry isn’t about personal gain but about serving God and His people. These traits also ensure that we can handle the responsibilities of ministry with integrity, building a legacy that honors God.

Q: For readers who may just be starting their faith journey, which of your books would you recommend as a starting point?

A: For new believers, Your New Life in Christ is a great place to start. It covers foundational truths of our identity in Christ and the basics of living a victorious life. From there, Exercising Your Faith provides practical guidance on building a life of faith and trust in God’s promises. Each book is written to encourage and empower believers at every stage, helping them grow deeper in their walk with Christ.

Q: What would you say to young ministers who are facing challenges in their ministry?

A: First, remember that challenges are part of the journey. Even Jesus faced opposition and hardship, but He stayed committed to His purpose. My advice is to stay rooted in prayer and surround yourself with wise, godly mentors. Don’t allow temporary setbacks to discourage you. Instead, see each challenge as an opportunity to grow, to lean on God, and to deepen your faith. Ministry is about endurance, and each challenge refines you and strengthens your resolve.

Q: What’s next for you and Word of Truth Ministries?

A: My vision is to continue equipping and training leaders around the world, raising ministers who walk in faith and power. We’re expanding our reach through live streams, new book projects, and training programs that support leaders globally. I believe that God is preparing the church for a powerful season, and it’s my desire to see every believer activated in their calling, living in the fullness of Christ.

Q: Any final words for our readers?

A: I encourage each of you to pursue God with your whole heart. Whether you’re in ministry or just starting your journey of faith, know that God has a purpose and plan for your life. Stay faithful, stay prayerful, and trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it.
